It’s a matchup of two of the world’s top teams when Brazil hosts Argentina on Sunday in a group-stage match in 2022 FIFA World Cup South American Qualifying. The teams faced off in the Copa America final in July, with the Argentines winning 1-0 for their first major trophy of the Lionel Messi era. The showdown between the top two teams in the standings kicks off Matchday 8 at 3 p.m. ET in Sao Paulo. In other Conmebol World Cup Qualifying matches, Ecuador hosts Chile at 5 p.m. ET in Quito, Uruguay hosts Bolivia and Colombia visits Paraguay at 6 p.m. ET, while Venezuela heads to Lima to face Peru at 9 p.m. ET.
Brazil is listed as the +110 favorite (risk $100 to win $110) in the latest 2022 World Cup Qualifying odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while Argentina is the +250 underdog and a draw is priced at +210. Before betting any of Sunday’s game or making any South American World Cup Qualifying predictions, you need to check out the predictions and best bets from international soccer insider Martin Green
After working in the sports betting industry for several years, Green became a professional sports writer and handicapper and has covered the game worldwide. Since then, his European soccer picks have been uncanny. Green has generated well over $36,000 for $100 bettors since the 2017-18 season, and he has his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe.
Now Green has released his best bets for the Sunday’s South American Qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. You can visit SportsLine now to see his picks
One of Green’s best bets for Sunday: He likes both teams to score (-110) in what should be an entertaining match between Ecuador and Chile. They are fighting for positioning, and Chile has a sense of urgency as it sits in seventh place but is just three points out of fourth. Ecuador, meanwhile, is trying to tighten its grip on the third spot behind Brazil and Argentina.
“We could see another entertaining game between two teams that will be desperate for points,” Green told SportsLine.
Ecuador has been playing with abandon in qualifying and has scored 16 goals but allowed 10. It defeated Paraguay 2-0 on Thursday, its first clean sheet in 12 matches (4-3-5) since the start of 2020. Ecuador’s Enner Valencia is seeking his 32nd goal to become his nation’s all-time leading scorer and faces a Chile team that has yielded nine goals. The Chileans have two clean sheets in their 12 matches (2-5-5) the past two years, and the past two meetings have been 2-1 affairs.
Green has locked in other confident best bets for Sunday, including a strong value play he’s identified in Argentina vs. Brazil. Be sure to see what he has to say before finalizing any 2022 World Cup Qualifying picks. He’s only sharing his top picks here.
